A WhatsApp message that has been shared throughout Johannesburg about the quality of the drinking water is ‘fake news’’, according to Johannesburg Water’s spokesperson Isaac Dhludlu.
A study released by researchers at Stellenbosch University and the University of Cape Town, and published in the journal Water Research, shows water restrictions had a limited impact on Capetonians water usage behaviour when compared with the threats of day zero.
Gauteng provincial government is already in talks to try prevent the province from its very own Cape Town style ‘day zero’.
