The Geberit Group marks 150 years in the industry.
Back in 1874 in Rapperswil, Switzerland, Caspar Gebert started up a one-man plumbing business. Thirty years later, his son Albert took over the business and the company started to become known for their manufacturing of plumbing parts.

The company is credited with developing a lead-lined wooden cistern as well as the first plastic cistern in 1952. The concealed cistern followed in 1964.
Today, the company employs over 10 000 people globally and has 26 production facilities.
In 2024, the group can look back on 150 years of company history. Since its foundation in 1874, the company has been a pioneer in the sanitary industry. “Our comprehensive system solutions continue to set standards – then, now and in the future,” says Christian Buhl, Geberit CEO.
Installers, wholesalers, building owners and end customers have been relying on the company’s innovative strength for 150 years. “Making good things even better has been our credo since day one. In doing so, we always put our customers at the centre,” says Buhl.
The company is celebrating its anniversary together with employees, customers and partners. Various events and celebrations are organised throughout the year.
