The World Plumbing Council is encouraging plumbers to wear blue in celebration of World Plumbing Day on 11 March. The global organisation has suggested that plumbers, merchants, engineers and suppliers don blue shirts, caps or work gear to show their support on World Plumbing Day, and to bring public awareness to the importance of plumbing’s role in public health.

How to participate and show support:

  • Wear blue!
  • Post a pic of you or your team rocking your blue outfits.
  • Remember to hashtag them: #PlumbingisMore and #WorldPlumbingDay
  • Tag your friends and family so that you can start spreading awareness

Other ideas:

  • Have a blue carpet at your workplace that is photo friendly for clients and employees to take their World Plumbing Day photos
  • Raise awareness through promotions or providing a deal on checks on maintenance
  • Do something meaningful in your community. South Africa’s toilet situation for kids is dire – why not help out a school in need? Or an old age home? Or animal rescue?
