Umphakathi, a non-profit company wants to help school-going learners gain diverse work experiences so that they can make informed career decisions. They believe that by giving youth access to skills and work experiences, they will enhance learners’ prospects of employment.

Umphakathi needs to raise R310 000 in order to cover the costs of a learning programme – which includes plumbing – and are looking for donations in the form of funding, material donations and even discounted prices.

Learners in grades 10 and 11 will have a chance to get some hands-on experience as part of the Gauteng Department of Education’s Multi-Certification Skills Programme. Umphakathi is an official Geberit training partner.
