A bathtub is an unusual canvas for an artist. However, South African artist and sculptor Azael Langa brought his unique style and extraordinary technique to create a one-of-a-kind work.

Langa’s stunning creation was unveiled at X-quisite Floors and Bathrooms in Wendywood, Johannesburg on 19 March 2025. The bathtub was supplied by South African manufacturers, DADO Creations, and will be auctioned off for charity later this year.
The event was accompanied by an art exhibition featuring various South African artists – including Langa. The exhibition is part of a permanent art gallery, known as ALX Gallery, that has its home at X-quisite Floors and Bathrooms, where Langa is the artist in residence.
The event brings together art, design and impact, a celebration of African artistry and craftmanship – with a purpose.
