“The rewards programme is actually a great initiative from Ariston,” Karabo says, “This ensures that as a consumer and installer for Ariston products, you look forward to getting something back. In my case, our business has been growing, and we have used the rewards to expand on our office furniture, including upgrading our mobile tech devices as we document all the administrative tasks surrounding all our jobs on these devices. Not forgetting a little bit of pleasure, of course: braais and monthly performance incentives for the guys.”
Karabo describes Ariston products as having the easiest interface with clear and descriptive instructions. “The same also applies for troubleshooting,” he says. “Also, their after-sales service isn’t hard to reach at all. We know they are busy, but we take comfort in knowing that they will attend to their commitments as soon as they possibly can.
Karabo has also been involved in the BluLever initiative and has taken several apprentices under his wing. He was reluctant at first, but figured that if it didn’t work out, he wouldn’t continue with the programme. He was pleasantly surprised at the result. “If we contribute to even one apprentice’s journey, I would consider this a job well done,” he says.
He calls for more technicians and artisans to take pride and ownership in their trades and to be responsible and accountable for their workmanship. “We have to use our skillsets to solve challenges experienced by our clients and do it with a great attitude,” he advises, “It’s about high time we redefine the industry norms and stand behind and guarantee the services we render to our clients and communities at large.”
Karabo takes great pride in his work and is pleased when he delivers a job done to high standards. He affirms that clients remember great service, great attitude, willingness to do the job and the level of craftsmanship from the plumber and their team.
