The Plumbing Indaba 2026 was a huge success – here are the highlights and messages from the organisers
Plumbing’s Travelling Exhibitions (PTE), the Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) and the Institute of Plumbing South Africa (IOPSA) successfully hosted the flagship Plumbing Indaba 2026. Thank you to all the visitors, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors and teams who helped make the event so memorable.

With 371 feet on the ground on the first day of the exhibition, and 375 feet on the ground on the second, the exhibition was bustling with activity and excitement from the get go.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the PIRB, IOPSA and PTE for their collaboration in hosting an event of this scale, and for their commitment to bringing the industry together to learn, network and grow.

The Plumbing Indaba 2026 was a true celebration of the industry, bringing together the Plumbing Olympics, the Conference, and the dynamic PTE Exhibition under one roof. From IOPSA’s point of view, the energy throughout the event was unmatched. Competitors, delegates and exhibitors alike contributed to an atmosphere of professionalism, innovation and camaraderie.

One of the defining highlights of the Plumbing Indaba 2026 was the Conference, which exceeded expectations and reaffirmed the industry’s appetite for meaningful engagement and knowledge sharing. With every conference ticket sold before the event, the overwhelming response demonstrated a clear demand for a platform where industry professionals could come together to discuss the issues shaping the future of plumbing in South Africa. Delegates were particularly eager to hear the keynote address by Hardin Ratshisusu, acting commissioner of the National Consumer Protection Commission, whose presentation offered valuable insight into consumer protection, regulatory compliance and the shared responsibility of industry stakeholders.

The remaining speakers delivered equally insightful presentations, sharing practical expertise and valuable knowledge that broadened delegates’ understanding of important matters affecting the plumbing industry.
The Conference brought together a diverse audience of professional plumbers, manufacturers, importers, retailers, merchants, government departments, property management agencies, insurers, property developers, contractors and other industry role players. This broad representation encouraged collaboration, meaningful discussion and the exchange of ideas across the sector. Feedback from delegates, guests and speakers was overwhelmingly positive, with many commending the quality and relevance of the presentations and expressing a strong desire for future conferences of this calibre. PIRB is encouraged by this response and regards the Conference as a resounding success.
